The ACM European Council will hold an international event from the 6th to the 8th of September 2017 in Barcelona. The event is hosted by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and located in the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – Campus Nord (UPC). Prof. Mateo Valero, director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, is the overall conference chair.
The aim of the event is to bring together computer scientists and practitioners interested in the two main themes of the conference: High Performance Computing and Cybersecurity. In the HPC track a panel composed by top world experts in HPC will review progress and current plans for the worldwide roadmap towards Exascale computing, while the track on Cybersecurity will be examining the latest trends in this nowadays very hot field.
The ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: womENcourage 2017 will be collocated, September 6th to 8th, and will bring together students, researchers and professionals in many activities like workshops, a hackathon, career fair and technical talks and profit from the synergy with the technical tracks and the celebrations of the ACM conference.
Other events are being considered for co-location, such as EXDCI, HiPEAC and Eurolab-4-HPC.
A celebration of the ACM European Fellows and a Turing Lecture are also part of the programme.
